Spoon- Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga

I'll admit that I wasn't a huge Spoon fan before this album came along (it was released a couple of months ago). Their stuff never really seemed memorable or worth my time. Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, however, grabbed my attention from the first time I heard it. It's "catchy," but I do not mean that in the song-written-around-a-single-hook sort of way. I felt like I helped produce this album in a past life, I loved it. I recommend it to all of my sisters- Its fun and good and not too weird for you guys. Check it out.
Santogold- Santogold

wow i love this album. Sassy ethnic electro dance and good ol' drums and guitar. Its like M.I.A. and New Young Pony Club had a beautiful baby. From the track "Creator," with the almost creepy but totally perfect beginning vocals to a song that makes me want to krump, to pop rock "Lights Out" with soft unisons and a lilting chorus that makes you close your eyes and fall in love. GET THE SELF-TITLED GLORY NOW.
Ratatat- LP3

High five ratatat. A band in your position has three options: 1-play it safe, keep your solid fan base and create another synth-rock-dance-party, 2- endanger the fan base by trying to stretch your wings and explore new genres and instruments, or 3- do a little bit of both. I'm proud of you! Option three was the right choice. The ratatat sound is all over "Falcon Jab," with its dirty synth and swooning guitar; however, "Mi Viejo" includes acoustic guitar, something we've never seen from you. Although "Brulee" is interesting with the thunder/scratch affect opening, its a little too... snap-your-fingers-and-bump-hips-with-your-best-friend for me. The entire album is AMAZING, and they definitely went places they never have before, but not so much that they'd risk losing their sound and some fans. I recommend this album for anything looking for feel-good-drive-around music. Danceable, no vocals, quality stuff.
heres an MIA music video just because i love this song, and I love crappy 80's video
