Raj from 7-11

I am so freaking annoyed by Raj from 7-11 that I want to blog about it so that everyone I know knows.

If you don't know who Raj is, you have probably never lived in Provo. He is a guy who (i think) owns and works at the 7-11 off University, so every college student knows who he is from buying gas or slurpees.

Today I had exactly 7 dollars in change, which is perfect since it is EXACTLY what I needed if I wanted to go dancing tonight and chip in 2 bucks for gas money.

I go to 7-11 and ask for change (I was going to go to Brick Oven because it's closer, but it's too nice) and he tells me I need to buy something to get any bills for my coins.

The reason this is so upsetting is because of HOW HE SAID IT. He didn't say "ohhh sorrry I can't. I really need my dollar bills cuz it's a busy night or blah blah" Instead it went like this:

me: "can I get bills for these coins?" (smiling, happy. no one else in line)
Raj: "Yeah sure just buy something"
me: "no I can't I need all of this money"
Raj: "yeah sure just buy something" (EXACT same tone, wide eyes, the way you talk to someone when you are basically calling them a dumb blonde)
me: "are you serious"
raj: "you can make change out of the tip jar" (THRUSTS TIP JAR AT ME. NOT KIDDING. THe Kid behind me even jumped back a little because of it)
me: "wow. thanks"
raj: "you can buy something" (same voice. I've heard the man talk before and it's not like I was accidentally offended and he actually speaks like that all the time. It's like he was being a huge jerk. You SHOULD HAVE HEARD THE VOICE)

Seriously I am STEAMING right now. I can't believe I didn't tell him off.

Next time you hear a hipster Provo kid who is like "oh raj yeah that guy is way chill!" just because they think it's cute to like a random 7-11 man, tell them that he was really rude to a nice girl you know.

SERIOUSLY. OFFENDED.

p.s. I got two dollars in change from somewhere else before I went to 7-11, so it was actually only THREE DOLLARS that I needed from him!

p.p.s The people who actually gave me the change were really nice guys who worked at the snowboarding shop across the way. We talked about Sammy's and they said they would come in sometime. THAT IS THE WAY YOU TALK TO CUSTOMERS. NOT LIKE RAJ DOES.

You are so funny. Jan and Raj are like buddies. Are you going to fight Jan now?
