happy birthday to me

Yes, it is true. I am no longer a teenager, meaning I am getting older and losing alot of things that I have come to enjoy.

Here are some things I do not look forward to losing:
-the exciting possibility of a shotgun wedding (once you're out of the teens its just called a wedding)
-Hair
-the basis of my appeal for older men (they just love teenagers. they really do)
-bone density
-youthful folly (including but no limited to- constant skipping, braiding everything, and being fed cotton candy by a guy wearing a letterman's jacket)
-my fashion credibility. I'm out of high school and out of the loop. hellooo denim on denim and bedazzled leather hats.

On the flipside, here are some things I can't WAIT to lose.
-my unstoppable love of poor musicians, who swear that this show next month is definitely their big break, and please can't you drive me and the guys to the venue? hey thanks babe. make me a sandwhich.
-terrible skin, even though I've never had a skin problem, its just nice that it is no longer a threat to me.
-my heart. I want to give it to someone and have them do a happy dance with it and then put it gently back and then we'll hold hands.

now you know.
spread the word.

Oh Brooke, are you really 20?!?! I can see the bloom is off the rose already, how dramatic and SOOO unlike you!:) Happy Birthday, may you find that knight in shining armor or at least a man with enough money in his pocket to not stiff you with the check!
