I usually am pro-flirting. Promotes neighborly love, gets you free stuff, increases your tips, lowers your cholesterol, etc.
HOWEVER...
If I'm at work, and I'm trying to be nice, and you can't catch a freaking hint and leave me alone after my response to all your come ons are "ha. yeah" then you are a dumb boy, and you're the reason girls get so hostile and defensive sometimes.
ESPECIALLY when they're on the job.
Unless they are blatantly flirting back, DO NOT flirt with girls who are working. They need to be nice, and they don't want to get in an awkward situation where they can't just leave if you end up being a jerk.
So, for me, please just don't hit on your waitress. Thanks.

UGH i know exactly what you mean! i used to work in the men's department at the byu bookstore and it happened all the time. i'm working to earn money... not pick up dates.. esp. with guys who shop for clothes at the byu bookstore.
