One Fine Day is a snappy 60's doo-wop sorta song that I sang with my sisters all through my childhood.
There is some raging piano in the background, some Oooh's and Ahh's and sha-la three part harmonies.
I was singing it to myself the other day and realized that it is an incredibly depressing song, about a severely abused girl who needs to deal with reality.
Though I know you're the kind of boy
Who only wants to run around
I'll keep waiting and someday darling
You'll come to me when you want to settle down
The arms I long for will open wide
And you'll be glad to have me right by your side
One fine day
You're going to want me for your girl
It has a remarkably quick tempo for such depressing lyrics.
