Did you know that every Thursday night there is a free concert in Salt Lake? Get a carpool together and get up there, because I know I am.
Last night I saw Jenny Lewis and Bon Iver. Not only were we up in the VERY front (despite getting there only ten minutes before it started) but they were INCREDIBLY good live. This is my second time seeing Bon Iver, and the last time I saw them people were crying because it was so beautiful. This show definitely had a different vibe (more people, at night, louder) but still impressive.
Jenny Lewis was RIDICULOUS. I'll admit I've never been a huge fan, but I was converted last night. If she sounds that perfect live, how freaking good must her album be?
There were only two bands playing, but for a free show of that quality, it was totally worth it.
You can see the rest of the line up here and it's every thursday night for the rest of the summer. I'm planning on Seeing NASA, Sonic Youth, and Iron & Wine for sure.
THAT, plus the season pass I'm planning on buying from Seven Peaks....this summer is looking way good. At Seven Peaks you have to pay $20 bucks to get in for the day, but it's only $40 for a season pass! Splurge. Totally worth it.
If you're looking for the perfect end to a summer Friday, head on over to my work, Sammy's in Provo, and order a pie shake or a burger while enjoying the Sammy's Summer Spectacular that goes on every Friday around 8 or so. There's always live music and free ice cream.
If none of those things sound fun, then you must be crazy. This is my first summer in Provo, and I plan on enjoying it. You should too.
p.s. go here for Buy one, Get one Jamba Juice coupons. Valid only until Sunday!

Those jamba coupons are only valid until Sunday, not the 22.
And season passes are $40. With a student ID.
